2021 – HKU Bachelor Animation Graduation Film
The Language of the Birds is an atmospheric short film based on the third verse of the poem of the same name by Richard Siken. In this film, two cavepeople aim to illustrate their world through cave painting, and assess how they use art
My thesis film for the HKU. I really wanted to illustrate a film focused on colour and light based around something conceptual like a poem. I ended up settling for a bit of a poem by Richard Siken, the Language of the Birds. I think it’s the first college film I’m really happy with too, and it was great to use it to connect to others.
